Since 2011 the Biennale di Venezia invited the Accademia di Belle Arti, IUAV University of Venice and Ca' Foscari University of Venice to join in with the Biennale Sessions.
This year the city welcomed the 57th International Art Exhibition,Viva Arte Viva, curated by the chief curator of the Centre Pompidou, Paris: Christine Macel. The exhibition was conceived as "a Biennale designed with artists, by artists and for artists", " the ultimate ground for reflection, individual expression, freedom, and for fundamental questions".
With Biennale Sessions, universities from around the world are invited to take part in the artists' and curators' reflections in a dedicated room of the Central Pavilion in the famous Giardini and students can discover the Giardini's and Arsenale's pavilions with a special price accreditation for three following days.
tudents of the Accademia di Belle Arti, IUAV University of Venice and Ca' Foscari University of Venice - the three partner universities of Study in Venice which offer visual art, art history, conservation and humanities programmes - have had the opportunity to discover contemporary creation and its main actors first hand, in a multidisciplinary and professional approach.
