Ca' Foscari University of Venice

In 2019 Italian and Chinese twin towns Venice and Suzhou celebrate their 40-year anniversary, an important event that Ca' Foscari and Soochow universities intend to celebrate with many new initiatives, one of the most relevant is the exhibition “One Belt One Road” which focuses on the new silk road between China and Europe. The exhibition describe the historic relationship between these two towns built on the water, Venice and Suzhou, not only by traditional tools such as photos and historical relics, but also through the latest multimedia technologies.
Last March 28 a delegation from Ca' Foscari visited Soochow University in order to further develop this parthership which has already been sponsored by the City Hall of Venice. The exhibition will take place in Venice between november and december 2019 and then will move to Suzhou the following year. 2020 represents a very important year for Soochow University because next May 18 it will celebrate the 120th anniversary of its foundation.
The two universities signed their current partnership in 2017 and since then the activities jointly promoted have risen constantly. The opening of the Ca' Foscari Office in China within the campus of the Soochow University is definitely a point of reference for any future development, and it now counts with more resources, among wich the interns from the Ca' Foscari Desk in the World project.
