The International Master in Economics and Finance (IMEF) was born in 1998, from a fruitful collaboration between Venice International University, the Department of Economics of Ca' Foscari University, European Union - European Social Fund (ESF), Veneto Region, Italian Ministry for Labour and Social Affairs, and various institutions from the financial sector. IMEF is currently managed by Ca' Foscari Department of Economics, in collaboration with the two main sponsors Generali and Prometeia, which are providing scholarships and contributing to students training, and other supporters.
The aim of IMEF is to train students to acquire a deeper and more sophisticated knowledge of the economic analysis of markets and financial institutions. The primary function of the Master is to facilitate the entry of students into the domestic and international labour market by providing them with the most recent investigation tools, at both theoretical and applied level, thus preparing specialists in the fields of the analysis of financial markets, risk management, banking and corporate finance.
Activities are divided into four terms and training activities involve classroom lectures, interactive classes, exercises, seminars, practical training sessions and the preparation of a final paper.
First term: October-December (for students who are required to follow Maths and Statistics Pre-Courses, lessons will begin in September)
Second term: January-March
Third term: April-May
Fourth term: May-June
