'Primavera en català' is back in Venice

‘Primavera en català’ is back in town with a series of meetings and events about Catalan Literature and Culture. In 2022, thanks to the organizers' efforts, the speakers will cover topics about Catalan, Basque and Galician studies.
The event is organized by Paula Marqués Hernández - teacher at Ca' Foscari of ‘Catalan language and literature’ - and Iñaki Alfaro Vergarachea - who teaches ‘Basque language and literature' in Venice -, and will be the chance to meet writers and professionals of the book industry during the next weeks at Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

The first two dates to save are (the events will be streamed online, too):

  • March 14th, 2pm (Venice, San Sebastiano, Room 21): conference Editar en català per al món: una mirada crítica al circuit literari by Gonçal López-Pampló Rius, teacher at the University of Valencia and director at the Spanish publisher Edicions Bromera;
  • March 21st, from 10.30am (Venice, San Basilio, Room 0F): writers Leire Bilbao and Lucia Pietrelli, and academic researcher Meritxell Matas (Universitat de Barcelona) will give their presentations about Basque and Catalan literature in the framework of Le poetiche del corpo nella letteratura contemporanea basca e catalana. In the afternoon, Paula Marqués Hernández and Iñaki Alfaro Vergarachea will hold a workshop about translation studies and poems (Laboratorio di traduzione poetica).

All the activities will be carried out in Catalan, Italian and Spanish. Basque will be used during the 21st March event.

This is an initiative by the Dipartimento di Studi Linguistici e Culturali Comparati of Ca' Foscari University of Venice, in collaboration with Associazione Italiana di Studi Catalani (AISC), Etxepare Euskal Institutua, Institució de les Lletres catalanes, Institut Ramon Llull, Universitat de Barcelona and University of Valencia.
